Reminder: The PSA, Product Sale Advantage, can be applied to all leadership programs including the continuing educational piece, Mentoring/CIT II. These credits can also be used for bus transportation during the leadership program, as well as the CIT I & II programs.

Girls who successfully complete the Program Aide or Guard Start programs may sign up for weeks to mentor with camp staff. This mentoring week(s), now called CIT I and CIT II, are structured: girls will work with staff in delivering services to younger girls and every day participate in a group debrief with their assigned counselor to discuss the issues that arise when participating in the practical application of the skills learned in the two week course. A counselor is assigned to oversee this mentoring program and will continue to work with these girls to increase their skills and self-confidence working in the basic camp program or the Guard Start program at the pool and/or lake.

We also offer another week of training, CIT I, but also known as, Camp Program Aide Specialization, for girls who wish to specialize in helping at the boating programs, archery programs and horse programs.

Camp Program Aide (Entering Grades 8-10)

This two-week leadership program provides girls with the opportunity to develop or perfect camping skills with a day camp specialization. Girls who successfully complete both weeks are allowed to become their troop's outdoor-trained person and can specialize in archery, boating or our equestrian/horse program during the mentoring program, June 25-July 6, 2012. If choosing bus transportation, bus fee applies to each of the two weeks of Camp Program Aide a total: $110 and $55 per week for the mentoring program(s).

Guard Start (Entering Grades 8-10)

To successfully receive the American Red Cross certificate, girls must be able to swim 500 yards without stopping to rest or becoming tired and/or breathless. All girls will be awarded the Program Aide pin, program certificate and, with enough mentoring hours, (this is a commitment of 2 weeks in camp experience), their Program Aide patch. If choosing bus transportation, bus fee applies to each of the two weeks of Camp Program Aide a total: $110 and $55 per week for the mentoring program(s).
